Talk:Magnetron (microwave owen)

I would classify this as interfering emissions, not utility. As magnetron output is not supposed to exit the microwave oven. Some emission may be detectable. Hopefully it's clear to everyone that operating the magnetron outside the oven is dangerous, as is bypassing the door interlock. Vhf explorer (talk) 02:33, 27 March 2026 (NZDT)

I would not call it "some" emission. RFRadio Frequency output of magnetron is from 0.5 to almost 1 kW, owen cage has only 30 to 35 dBThe decibel (dB) is a logarithmic unit used to express the ratio of two values of a physical quantity, here the strength of a received signal. attenuation. So 1 to 5 Watts are radiated outside, 10 to 50 times more than RFRadio Frequency output of single Wi-Fi AP.
