The Microsonde Mark II was originally made by VIZ Manufacturing Company in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. VIZ was later bought in 1997 by Sippican Corporation, forming the VIZ Meteorological Systems Group of Sippican's Sea-Air Systems Division.
