FLEX (Flexible Wide Area Paging Protocol) is Motorola's high speed one-way paging protocol that supports 1600, 3200, and 6400 bpsBits per second (bps). FLEX can transmit numeric, alphanumeric, and binary data.

FLEX uses either 2FSK or 4FSK4-Level Frequency Shift Keying. 2FSK speeds are 1600 bpsBits per second (bps) and 3200 bpsBits per second (bps). 4FSK4-Level Frequency Shift Keying speeds are 3200 bpsBits per second (bps) and 6400 bpsBits per second (bps).

ReFLEX is the two-way variant of the FLEX protocol.
