Automatic Link Set-up (ALIS) is an automatic link system used by Rohde & Schwarz modems. Used in the same way as ALEAutomatic Link Establishment. Primarily uses FSKFrequency-Shift Keying with 228.66 BdBaud (unit symbol Bd) is the unit for symbol rate or modulation rate in symbols per second. (variable from 30-650 BdBaud (unit symbol Bd) is the unit for symbol rate or modulation rate in symbols per second.), and a FSKFrequency-Shift Keying shift of 170 HzHertz (Hz), unit of frequency, defined as one cycle per second (1 Hz).. ALIS also uses ARQAutomatic Repeat reQuestAutomatic Repeat Query / PRP for error correction. An improved version of ALIS was made, called ALIS-2

ALIS is described in report 551-2 of the ITU "Reports of the CCIRComité Consultatif International pour la Radio (Predecessor of the ITU-R) 1990 - Fixed Services at Frequencies below about 30 MHzMegaHertz (MHz) 10^6 Hz".
